You need to be mindful of few wakeboard glossary terms, if not all. Wakeboard is a specialized sport, so are the terms attached to it. If you were not aware of the wakeboard glossary terms then you would face a large amount of problem in handling assorted activities during wakeboarding. Some of the important terms related to wakeboarding are as follows:

Sometimes a wakeboard ship circles around and crosses back over the wakes that it creates. This is at about 90 degrees and causes the wakes to come together ensuing to double sized wakes. This is called Double-Up. If the timing from the rider is perfect then he can be ready to get more air than standard during these situations.

Ballast:
The extra weight added to the wakeboard boat is called ballast. Fitting in fat and heavy sacks or stuffing more folks to make the ship heavy enough is referred to as a ballast. It is done to help the ship to cause more wakes. Moreover, there are some boats supplied with ballast systems that are crammed with water.

Butt Check:

Faceplant:
is a type of fall, which makes you catch your toeside edge, which eventually results you to fall very quickly with your face slapping the water hard.

Bail:
On realizing, that you will not be ready to complete the trick, when you give up then that it is called bail. A trick may not always turn out in the way you would need it to happen. You will fail due to too much air or loosing control.

Fakie:
The term is used to outline a situation in wakeboarding, when you are riding the ship in standard riding position, however traveling in the other direction. This is not exactly done as it requires you to switch the position of your foot. The term “fakie” is also popularly replaced by the term “Switchstance”. It actually means the person is riding the person is riding the board with the opposite foot forward.

Whitewash:
The the middle of the 2 wakes is known as whitewash. The wake itself may contain whitewash and that will make it troublesome for the wake to hit because it would be less clean.

Lube:
A substance that is greasy, which assists you to get your feet into bindings. There are specially made lubes but a number of people use Vaseline, shaving cream or soap as an alternative.

Raley-Based Tricks:
The tricks done with your body extended back and the board above your head is named reversed flips. They are built off the Raley and are called Raley-Based Tricks.
