What is wakeboard? It is a board that is made of lightweight plastic and fiber and is used to surf the wake that is made by a motorboat. You are towed by the speedboat with the help of a long wire and this gives you the mandatory velocity to surf the wake. The first and most important thing that you should consider when choosing your wakeboard is your height and weight. Buoyancy is a particularly vital factor in this sport. If you select too little a board, you may sink in the water notwithstanding being towed by the motor boat. On the other hand, if you choose too large a wakeboard, you can find it very difficult to control the board and surf properly. If not, then you should select a narrow and smaller board.
Every wakeboard has bindings attached to it. Bindings are of different types. Their basic purpose is to keep the surfer attached to the board. It is next to impossible to perform flips, swivels and other such tricks on your board if you don’t have bindings to keep you attached to the board.
You should select the bindings depending on whether you shall be the only person to use the board or not. If yes, then you can permanently fix the bindings as OK for your feet. If not, then you must select flexible bindings which can be altered to fit different surfers.
