Where Can I Watch Professional Paintball?

In only twenty years, professional paintball tournaments may be watched across the United States and in some European countries. Like professional baseball or football, though, pro paintball is currently limited to larger cities. Additionally, there are currently two professional leagues in paintball; these include the National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) and the National X-ball League (NXL).

Combinations

Eventually, these leagues may blend into a single organization as found in the history of professional football. Today, though, fans can either choose to follow a favorite, or enjoy those teams that choose to play in both the NPPL and NXL pro paintball leagues.

These teams include the following

Baltimore Trauma or the Montreal Image in the NPPL
Jacksonville Raiders
Las Vegas LTZ
Los Angeles Ironmen
Los Angeles Infamous or the Oakland Assassins in the NXL
New England/New York Hurricanes
Pittsburgh/Philadelphia All-Americans
Portland/Seattle Naughty Dogs
Oakland Blast or the San Diego Legacy in the NXL
Sacramento XSV
San Diego Dynasty

NPPL or NXL Exclusively

For those avid fans of the National Professional Paintball League, there are a handful of teams that only compete with other pro paintball teams in a single league. These teams are:

Chicago Farside
Dallas Elite
Edmonton Impact
Jersey Authority
Miami Rage
St. Louis Avalanche
Stockholm Joy Division

Similarly, fans of the NXL league can watch there favorites when they play at home. These pro paintball teams include:

Chicago Aftershock
Detroit Strange
Russian Legion (Boston Red Legion)
San Antonio X-Factor
Ultimate

While many of these teams only compete in a single league, some are looking to gain a franchise in the other. Today, a pro paintball fan can not only follow, but also watch world championships courtesy of ESPN.

This means, that watching a favorite team is not limited to those who happen to live in a city like St. Louis, anyone can tune in a root for their favorite professional paintball team armed with pizza and a circle of friends.

Paintball Heirarchy

Like any other professional sport, professional paintball has a hierarchy. Players and teams must work their way through the ranks to become a pro paintball player. In the NPPL rule book, these levels begin with Young Guns (those under 16), Local Rookie, Novice, Amature, Semi-Pro and Professional.

To move up in ranking requires winning. For each tournament won, a team is given percentage points. After they have reached a certain level, they are allowed to move up in rank and start winning and accumulating points again. One of the most successful pro paintball rookie teams in the history of the sport is the San Diego Dynasty who won the professional championship in their rookie year.

Paintball isn’t just for those who plau the sport the way it once was. In the past twenty years, paintball has become wildly popular. Today, teams compete in championship tournaments globally, and their fan-base is expanding beyond those who have actually held a paintball gun. Fan who are lucky enough to have a pro paintball team nearby can watch their favorites battle live, the rest of us perch on the edge of our couches and tune into ESPN.

Simple Steps in Taking care of Your Hair

Hair loss especially for men is viewed as something that is expected but still promotes an uncomfortable feeling. One of the difficult issues to solve is when hair loss is becoming obvious, especially for men. Some women also do have the hard luck of needing to face hair loss and it is more worrying for them.

There can be a lot to say on this issue, and there maybe differences of opinions, but the reality of it is that for most people, hair loss is a tough situation to manage. People suffering from hair loss tend to fight it and do everything they can to preserve their hair. Although for men, becoming bald at old age is something everyone assumes, there are a few habits that you can practice to have lasting hair and lessen baldheadedness:

  • Avoid smoking like the plague because smoking is exactly connected to hair loss for both sexes. Smoking can produce a lot of health problems when you start the habit, and quitting can be very difficult as well; it’s better not to start the bad habit than have to deal with health consequences in the long run. Smoking alters the chemistry in your body and prevents your blood vessels from delivering the greatly required nutrients to your hair follicles.
  • Consider hair supplements such as Provillus to encourage follicle health. Provillus can effectively stop the progress of dihydrotestosterone that disturbs the process of hair growth. Your hair follicles need to be looked out of and one way to do that is to make sure you eat nutritious food and you do not ill-treat your body. Your vitamin supplements can help fulfil your body’s nutritional needs when your dietary eating is deficient.
  • To drop your testosterone, you must minimize eating meat. Hair is largely composed of of protein, and getting foods that are high in protein can keep your follicles healthy. Then again, protein in meat, while good for your hair also greatly encourages your body to produce additional testosterone which would effect in hair loss.
  • Place a lot of green leafy vegetables in your diet, they are a helpful raw source of protein. Vegetables rich in protein can help your hair stay fit and strong and simultaneously keep your testosterone in an adequate level. Eating vegetables, especially vegetables that are rich in fiber may as well support with the circulation of blood in your body.
  • To become more healthful, make time to do some exercise and have sufficient rest. Your hair and follicle also need good blood circulation in order for them to receive the proper nutrition that they need and for them to continue to stay fit and fervent. Some of the greatest ways to have a good blood circulation in your body are by exercising and sleeping well.

Modifying your everyday life can prove to be very difficult as it is not easy to quit or avoid specific awful habits. However, changing your diet and being over of unhealthy habits have many other benefits aside from promoting the health of your hair. Good practices will effect your body mre durable and your hair healthier.

Adventure Sports: Bungee Jumping

Bungee jumping is an adventurous sport where the participant jumps from a great height while he is connected to a large rubber rope. The jump can be made from the top of a tall building, bridge or crane. To bring in more adrenalin rush, jump can be made from a moving object like helicopter or a hot air balloon.

Bungee word was developed in 1930, which meant rubber eraser. The idea originated from dwellers of the Pentecost Island, who used to tie vines to their ankles and jumped from tall wooden platforms. The vine was substituted by elastic cord. Members of the Dangerous Sports club made the first official bungee jumping on April 1, 1979 from the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. Initially they were arrested, but later on they appeared on television and jumped from many places including hot air balloon and mobile cranes, in 1982.

A J Hackett of New Zealand did the first commercial bungee jumping in 1986, from Auckland’s Greenhithe Bridge. After that he made numerous jumps from famous monuments like the Eiffel Tower. The first bungee jumping site was laid in Queenstown, New Zealand, on the Kawarau Bridge.

The rubber rope absorbs the complete energy of the fall and when the rope snaps back, the jumper flies in the upward direction.  The process of oscillation continues until all energy is utilized. The rubber rope is covered with cloth and has hooks on both the end. It is a specially designed braided shock cord. A tough outer cover encloses many latex strands. The function of the tough outer cover is to provide durability. Some consider using unbraided cords without the tough outer cover, which delivers a longer and softer bounce. Commercial operators are forced to use body harness to ensure safety in case of accidents.

Variations to traditionally bungee jumping are catapult, twin tower, bungee running and bungee trampoline. In catapult, the jumper is placed on the ground and the cord is stretched, usually with the help of a crane, and then the jumper is released and he goes shooting up in the air. Twin towers employs two oblique cords. Bungee running, as the name suggests involves running and not jumping. The rope is attached to the participant and he runs as far as possible on an inflatable surface. The point maximum reached is marked with the help of a Velcro-backed marker, after which the runner gets pulled back to his initial position. Two or more people are involved in this and it is more like a running competition. Bungee Trampoline has a mix of bungee and trampolining. The body is fitted into a harness attached to a trampoline, which in turn is attached to a bungee. When the participant begins to jump he goes higher than a normal trampoline would.

Bungee jumping has been incorporated in many movies and video albums. The most famous of all is the James Bond movie, Golden Eye, which was released in 1995. The movie opens with Bond jumping from a dam in Russia. The jump was no special effect and was genuine.

Like other sports, bungee jumping has its share of possible injuries. The reason for most of them is human error, along with failure of safety harness, miscalculation of elasticity of the rope and improper connection of the cord. Possible injuries are body entangling with the rope, rope burn, dislocations, eye trauma, uterine prolapsed, back injury, pinched fingers and bruises. Jumper’s age, weight, experience, and location should be reviewed before the jump, as a safety measure.
